Strain Review: Frost’d Flakes by LowKey MTL

(aka The Kief Collector’s Dream)

I’ve picked up Frost’d Flakes more times than I can count, especially in the 7g format — and for good reason. It’s one of those strains that rarely misses: absolutely frosted, super potent, and always delivering a satisfying, balanced high. But let’s talk about this batch.

Visually, it still brings the heat. These nugs are caked in trichomes, like someone rolled them in sugar. Break them open and the resin practically sticks to your fingertips. Toss it in the grinder and — no surprise — kief city. This one seriously overdelivers on that front. It’s like getting a second stash on the side.

Now, the nose on this particular batch is a little more muted than usual. With 1.96% terps, it’s slightly lower than what I’ve come to expect from LowKey’s Frost’d Flakes, and you can smell the difference — not quite as loud out of the bag. Hopefully just a one-off, because this strain usually hits harder on aroma. That said, the effects still came through clutch.

The THC clocks in at a beastly 31.4%, so the potency is very much still there. The high hits fast but stays smooth — euphoric, mentally uplifting, and physically relaxing without dragging you down. That 0.07% CBD helps round things out ever so slightly, but make no mistake — this is strong stuff.

Why it’s still a favorite:

  • Ridiculous trichome coverage

  • Grinder-friendly with a mountain of bonus kief

  • Strong, clean high that’s perfect for relaxing, gaming, or zoning into music

  • Great value in the 7g format — especially for regulars

Quick Stats:

  • THC: 31.4%

  • CBD: 0.07%

  • Terpenes: 1.96%

  • Grown by: MTL Cannabis

  • Brand: LowKey MTL

  • Packaged with a Boost humidity pack (yes, they care)

Final Verdict:

Even with a slightly quieter nose this round, Frost’d Flakes remains a top-shelf go-to. The high is potent and clean, the buds are gorgeous, and the grinder kief bonus makes it feel like you’re getting extra value every time. One of my all-time favorite 7g picks — fingers crossed the next batch is back to full terp power.
